Shloka 24

भुवनकोशविन्यासनिर्णयः (ज्योतिर्गति-वृष्टिचक्र-वर्णनम्)

हत्वा हत्वा तु सम्प्राप्तान् ब्राह्मणैश्चरते रविः अष्टादश मुहूर्तं तु उत्तरायणपश्चिमम्

hatvā hatvā tu samprāptān brāhmaṇaiścarate raviḥ aṣṭādaśa muhūrtaṃ tu uttarāyaṇapaścimam

Setelah berulang kali menewaskan mereka yang datang menghalang di hadapannya, Surya terus bergerak maju—didorong oleh ketetapan para Brāhmaṇa—menempuh laluan Uttarāyaṇa dan jalan barat selama lapan belas muhūrta. Di sini Purāṇa mengisyaratkan bahawa gerak kosmos pun berjalan di bawah dharma; sementara jiwa yang terikat (paśu) menuai buah kekerasan hingga ia berpaling kepada Tuhan (Pati) melalui amalan yang benar.
