It grounds Shiva-puja in sacred timekeeping: knowing muhūrta and nakṣatra movement supports selecting auspicious timings for Linga-archana, vrata, and homa, aligning the pashu’s practice with cosmic order governed by Pati.
Indirectly, it presents Kāla (time) and celestial motion as regulated principles within creation—powers that function under the supreme Lord (Pati). In Shaiva Siddhanta framing, the sun’s course reflects niyati and kāla operating as part of the Lord’s governance over the bound soul (pashu).
Kāla-niyama (discipline of time): structuring worship, japa, and vrata by muhūrta/nakṣatra awareness—an applied purity of schedule that supports steadiness in Pashupata-oriented sadhana.
