Adhyaya 44: Nandikesvara’s Manifestation and Abhisheka; The Rule of Namaskara in Shiva-Nama
Suta Goswami (narrating), with Shiva as the one who speaks within the scene
It shows the Shaiva principle that proper pūjā and reverent honoring (sampūjya) precede instruction and command—mirroring how Linga-pūjā prepares the pashu (soul) to receive the grace of Pati (Śiva).
Śiva is presented as Prabhu—the sovereign Pati—who rules innumerable hosts yet still honors his attendants, reflecting lordship joined with auspiciousness (śivattva) and gracious order (anugraha).
The verse highlights sampūjā—complete honoring—as a prerequisite to transmission, aligning with Pāśupata discipline where purification through worship and humility supports the loosening of pāśa (bondage).
