Adhyaya 27
कुशपुष्पयवव्रीहिबहुमूलतमालकम् दापयेत्प्रोक्षणीपात्रे भसितं प्रणवेन च
kuśapuṣpayavavrīhibahumūlatamālakam dāpayetprokṣaṇīpātre bhasitaṃ praṇavena ca
Hendaklah dimasukkan ke dalam bejana percikan upacara (prokṣaṇī) rumput kuśa, bunga-bungaan, jelai, beras, banyak akar suci serta tamālaka; kemudian turut diletakkan bhasma, abu suci, sambil disucikan dengan Praṇava “Oṁ”.

It prescribes the sanctifying mixture placed in the prokṣaṇī vessel and emphasizes bhasma empowered by Oṁ—purification before approaching the Linga, the manifest sign of Pati (Shiva).
By centering the rite on bhasma and the praṇava, it points to Shiva as Pati who purifies pashu (the bound soul) from pāśa (impurities/bondage), making the worshipper fit for His grace.
