गोदावरी नदी पुण्या सर्वपापविनाशनी / तत्र स्नात्वा पितॄन् देवांस्तर्पयित्वा यथाविधि / सर्वपापविसुद्धात्मा गोसहस्रफलं लभेत्
godāvarī nadī puṇyā sarvapāpavināśanī / tatra snātvā pitṝn devāṃstarpayitvā yathāvidhi / sarvapāpavisuddhātmā gosahasraphalaṃ labhet
Sungai Godāvarī itu suci, pemusnah segala dosa. Setelah mandi di sana dan mempersembahkan tarpaṇa (curahan air suci) kepada para leluhur dan para dewa menurut tata cara, seseorang menjadi bersih daripada segala dosa dan memperoleh pahala seumpama menghadiahkan seribu ekor lembu.
