Aśauca-vidhi — Rules of Birth/Death Impurity, Sapinda Circles, and Śrāddha Sequence
एकादशे ऽह्नि कुर्वोत प्रेतमुद्दिश्य भावतः / द्वादशे वाथ कर्तव्यमनिन्द्ये त्वथवाहनि / एकं पवित्रमेकोर्ऽघः पिण्डपात्रं तथैव च
ekādaśe 'hni kurvota pretamuddiśya bhāvataḥ / dvādaśe vātha kartavyamanindye tvathavāhani / ekaṃ pavitramekor'ghaḥ piṇḍapātraṃ tathaiva ca
Pada hari kesebelas, hendaklah dilakukan upacara dengan niat yang tulus, dipersembahkan kepada preta, roh yang telah berangkat. Pada hari kedua belas juga hendaklah dilakukan—pada hari yang baik dan tidak tercela, atau jika tidak, pada hari itu juga. Untuk upacara itu gunakan satu cincin kuśa yang suci, satu persembahan arghya, dan satu bekas bagi piṇḍa (bebola nasi) sahaja.
