Aśauca-vidhi — Rules of Birth/Death Impurity, Sapinda Circles, and Śrāddha Sequence
अग्नौ मरुप्रपतने वीराध्वन्यप्यनाशके / ब्राह्मणार्थे च संन्यस्ते सद्यः शौचं विधीयते
agnau maruprapatane vīrādhvanyapyanāśake / brāhmaṇārthe ca saṃnyaste sadyaḥ śaucaṃ vidhīyate
Jika seseorang mati dalam api, atau terjatuh di padang pasir, atau gugur dalam perjalanan kepahlawanan/kempen—walaupun jasad tidak ditemui—maka “kesucian serta-merta” (sadyaḥ-śauca) ditetapkan. Demikian juga apabila seseorang secara rasmi diserahkan/dianggap telah mati demi kepentingan seorang brāhmaṇa, kesucian serta-merta turut diperintahkan.
