Aśauca-vidhi — Rules of Birth/Death Impurity, Sapinda Circles, and Śrāddha Sequence
मातामहानां मरणे त्रिरात्रं स्यादशौचकम् / एकोदकानां मरणे सूतके चैतदेव हि
mātāmahānāṃ maraṇe trirātraṃ syādaśaucakam / ekodakānāṃ maraṇe sūtake caitadeva hi
Apabila datuk dan nenek sebelah ibu meninggal dunia, tempoh aśauca (ketidak-sucian ritual) ialah tiga malam. Sesungguhnya, bagi kaum kerabat ekodaka (yang berkongsi satu garis persembahan air kepada leluhur) apabila meninggal, dan juga pada waktu sūtaka (ketidak-sucian kerana kelahiran), peraturan yang sama inilah yang terpakai.
