FAQs

Indirectly: it stresses disciplined, non-appropriative worship (arcana-niyama). Such restraint and reverence purify the mind, which is treated in the Purana as a prerequisite for realizing the Atman through higher teaching.

It highlights preparatory discipline (yama-like restraint) expressed through ritual ethics—seeking consent and avoiding possessive taking—supporting steadiness (śuddhi, saṃskāra) that undergirds later Yoga and contemplative practice in the text.

Though not naming them, the instruction belongs to shared Purāṇic worship culture where proper arcana applies across sectarian forms; it aligns with the Kurma Purana’s broader Shaiva–Vaishnava synthesis by emphasizing one dharma of reverent worship.
