तपसा कर्षितो ऽत्यर्थं कृशो धमनिसंततः / ज्ञानयोगरतो भूत्वा महापाशुपतो ऽभवत्

tapasā karṣito 'tyarthaṃ kṛśo dhamanisaṃtataḥ / jñānayogarato bhūtvā mahāpāśupato 'bhavat

Dihancurkan oleh tapa yang amat berat, baginda menjadi kurus kering, urat-uratnya menonjol. Dan dengan tekun dalam Jñāna-yoga, baginda mencapai keadaan Mahā-Pāśupata, pemuja-penyedaran tertinggi kepada Paśupati, Śiva.
