FAQs

This verse is primarily descriptive and genealogical; it does not directly teach Ātman-doctrine. Its role is to situate characters within the Purāṇic narrative framework that later supports dharma and spiritual instruction.

No explicit yoga practice is taught in this śloka. It belongs to the Purva-bhāga’s cataloguing style, whereas detailed yoga—often framed with Pāśupata and Śaiva-Vaiṣṇava synthesis—appears more prominently in the Upari-bhāga (including the Ishvara Gītā section).

It does not explicitly address Śiva–Viṣṇu unity. The verse functions as narrative description; the Purāṇa’s non-sectarian synthesis is expressed more directly in later theological passages rather than in this catalogue-like verse.
