Lord Vishnu (in discourse to Garuda)
Dosha: Vata
Concept: Nidāna (provoking vāta) produces predictable phala (ārtava-nirodha) through disturbed vāyu.
Vedantic Theme: Cause-effect (kārya-kāraṇa) in the embodied field; disciplined action reduces suffering and supports inner steadiness.
Application: Avoid vāta-aggravating habits (fasting to excess, overexertion, irregular sleep, anxiety); support regular cycles with grounding routines and medical guidance.
Primary Rasa: bhayanaka
Secondary Rasa: karuna
Related Themes: Garuda Purana 1.160 (vāta role in strī-roga/ārtava-nirodha)
The verse frames vāyu (samīraṇa) as the regulator of monthly ārtava; when vāyu is disturbed, normal bodily rhythms are obstructed.
It attributes disruption to the agitation of internal wind (samīraṇa), which then blocks the monthly flow established in the yoni.
Maintain routines that keep vāta balanced—regular rest, stress reduction, and moderation—so natural monthly rhythms are less likely to be disturbed.
