Citraketu’s Detachment, Nārada’s Mantra, and the Darśana of Anantadeva
अथ तस्मै प्रपन्नाय भक्ताय प्रयतात्मने । भगवान्नारद: प्रीतो विद्यामेतामुवाच ह ॥ १७ ॥
atha tasmai prapannāya bhaktāya prayatātmane bhagavān nāradaḥ prīto vidyām etām uvāca ha
Selepas itu, kerana berkenan kepada Citraketu—seorang bhakta yang berserah diri dan mengawal diri—Bhagavān Nārada menyampaikan kepadanya ajaran rohani yang luhur ini.

This verse says that one who is surrendered (prapanna), devoted (bhakta), and self-controlled (prayatātmā) becomes a fit recipient of sacred instruction, and such qualities please great saints like Nārada.
