Mahārāja Sagara, Kapila Muni, and the Deliverance of the Sixty Thousand Sons
श्रीशुक उवाच हरितो रोहितसुतश्चम्पस्तस्माद् विनिर्मिता । चम्पापुरी सुदेवोऽतो विजयो यस्य चात्मज: ॥ १ ॥
śrī-śuka uvāca harito rohita-sutaś campas tasmād vinirmitā campāpurī sudevo ’to vijayo yasya cātmajaḥ
Śukadeva berkata: Putera Rohita ialah Harita, dan putera Harita ialah Campa, yang membina kota Campāpurī. Putera Campa ialah Sudeva, dan putera Sudeva ialah Vijaya.
In this verse, Śukadeva Gosvāmī states that Harita, the son of Rohita, established Campāpurī.
He narrates sacred genealogies to preserve dharmic history and to show how royal lineages continued through righteous succession within the Bhagavatam’s broader teachings.
They cultivate respect for dharma, continuity of tradition, and remembrance that worldly power is temporary while spiritual hearing (śravaṇam) is enduring.
