The Yadu–Vṛṣṇi–Andhaka Genealogies and the Purpose of Kṛṣṇa’s Advent
In Bhagavatam 9.24.13, Satrājit and Prasena are identified as the two sons of Nighna within the Yadu dynasty line, figures connected to later Krishna-līlā narratives.
Śukadeva presents the dynasty’s lineage to establish the historical and devotional context for Lord Kṛṣṇa’s appearance among the Yadus and the prominent families and personalities connected to His pastimes.
These lineages help devotees see how divine providence works through generations, strengthening faith that dharma and bhakti are preserved through saintly families and God’s guidance in history.
