Bhāgavata-Māhātmya and the Complete Summary of the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam
This verse lists Akrūra’s arrival as a key event in Kṛṣṇa’s līlā narrative, marking the turning point that leads to Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma departing for Mathurā.
The verse highlights the gopīs’ lamentation as an essential feature of Vraja-bhakti—intense love in separation (viraha) that arises when Kṛṣṇa departs from Vṛndāvana toward Mathurā.
By transforming feelings of distance or longing into steady remembrance—hearing, chanting, and serving with deeper dependence on Kṛṣṇa—one can intensify devotion rather than become discouraged.
