Arjuna Marries Subhadrā; Kṛṣṇa Honors Two Devotees in Mithilā (Śrutadeva and Bahulāśva)
Even while being honored by Lord Balarāma, Arjuna was too distracted to appreciate the Lord’s gracious hospitality. Arjuna’s distraction and Lord Balarāma’s failure to recognize Arjuna in his disguise were both arrangements of the Supreme Lord to enjoy His transcendental pastimes.
This verse states that when desire becomes extremely powerful, it can bewilder the mind and steal one’s peace, even from a great hero like Arjuna.
Because his mind was revolving in confusion, overcome by intense longing; he was trying to attain closeness and assurance from the woman he was contemplating.
Recognize that strong desire agitates the mind and blocks peace; redirect attention from fixation to steadier dharma and devotion, seeking clarity rather than impulsive pursuit.
