Jarāsandha’s Siege of Mathurā, Kṛṣṇa-Balarāma’s Victory, and the Founding of Dvārakā amid Kālayavana’s Threat
एवं ध्यायति गोविन्द आकाशात् सूर्यवर्चसौ । रथावुपस्थितौ सद्य: ससूतौ सपरिच्छदौ ॥ ११ ॥
evaṁ dhyāyati govinda ākāśāt sūrya-varcasau rathāv upasthitau sadyaḥ sa-sūtau sa-paricchadau
Ketika Govinda sedang berfikir demikian, dari langit tiba-tiba turun dua kereta perang bercahaya seperti matahari, lengkap dengan kusir dan segala kelengkapannya.
Śrīla Jīva Gosvāmī and Śrīla Viśvanātha Cakravartī agree that the chariots came down from the Lord’s own abode, Vaikuṇṭha-loka, the kingdom of God. The faithful devotees of the Lord derive tremendous pleasure by observing the Lord’s incomparable technology.
This verse shows that as Kṛṣṇa (Govinda) simply contemplated, divine resources—two radiant chariots fully equipped—manifested immediately, illustrating His supreme ability to arrange protection and assistance.
In the narrative flow, Kṛṣṇa is orchestrating the next step of His līlā; the sudden appearance of celestial, fully equipped chariots indicates divine arrangement enabling His purposeful movement within the unfolding events.
Do your duty with steady remembrance of the Lord; this verse encourages faith that when one is aligned with dharma and devotion, timely support can come in unexpected ways.
