FAQs

It provides the specific names of the presiding deities of the 5th–7th lunar days (tithis), used for tithi-based worship, mantra-japa, and calendrical ritual selection.

By cataloging ritual-calendar deities (tithi-devatās) and their appellations, it functions like a liturgical index—linking Jyotiṣa (time-reckoning) with Pūjā-vidhi (practical worship procedure).

Aligning worship with the correct tithi-deity is taught as a way to harmonize rites with sacred time, supporting purity of observance and the intended fruit (phala) of vows and offerings.
