न हि मोक्षमवाप्नोति पिण्डांस्तत्रैव सो ऽश्रुते कृते सपिण्डीकरणे नरः संवत्सरात्परं

na hi mokṣamavāpnoti piṇḍāṃstatraiva so 'śrute kṛte sapiṇḍīkaraṇe naraḥ saṃvatsarātparaṃ

Sesungguhnya, dia tidak mencapai mokṣa (pembebasan) selama piṇḍa itu masih ‘tertinggal’ di sana (belum disatukan ke dalam garis leluhur). Namun apabila upacara sapiṇḍīkaraṇa telah dilaksanakan, maka si mendiang—selepas genap setahun—diterima ke dalam darjat Pitṛ (para leluhur).
