FAQs

It provides a sequence of Devi-epithets for nāma-japa/namāvali-style recitation—used in Shakti-upāsanā for protection (Aparājitā, Bhadrakālī) and auspicious attainments (Maṅgalā, Siddhi).

Beyond myth, the Agni Purana preserves practical liturgical material—lists of divine names employed in worship—showing its coverage of ritual technology (pujā, japa, stotra) alongside other sciences.

Reciting these names venerates the Goddess as invincible victory and auspicious power, traditionally held to remove obstacles, confer protection, and support siddhi (successful completion of spiritual and worldly aims).
