evaṃ kurvannaro yakṣa na muhyati kadācana | atra snāto divaṃ yāti atra snātaḥ sukhī bhavet
Viśvāmitra (deduced from Adhyāya context; confirmed later in 66)
Tirtha: Ayodhyā tīrtha (Sarayū-associated bathing place)
Type: ghat
Listener: Yakṣa (addressed)
Scene: A pilgrim completes ritual bathing at an Ayodhyā tīrtha, emerging serene and undeluded; the sacred riverbank, ghāṭa steps, and distant temple spires frame the scene; a Yakṣa presence is implied as guardian of the spot.
Proper tīrtha-observance dispels delusion and yields both otherworldly (svarga) and worldly (sukha) fruits.
The ‘here’ (atra) refers to the praised Ayodhyā tīrtha within this chapter’s narrative.
Perform the prescribed actions culminating in snāna at the tīrtha.
