ततस्तथैव संतस्थौ बर्बरीकोऽभिरक्षणे । ततश्चतुर्थे यामे च प्राप्तः क्षपणकोऽद्भुतः
tatastathaiva saṃtasthau barbarīko'bhirakṣaṇe | tataścaturthe yāme ca prāptaḥ kṣapaṇako'dbhutaḥ
तेव्हा बर्बरीक पूर्वीप्रमाणेच पहाऱ्यावर तिथेच स्थिर राहिला। मग रात्रीच्या चौथ्या प्रहरात एक अद्भुत क्षपणक तपस्वी तेथे आला।
