ye pumāṃsastvamūndevānsamāśritya kriyāparāḥ | ardhamātrātmake nitye pade līnāsta eva hi
जे पुरुष या देवांचा आश्रय घेऊन क्रियापरायण राहतात, तेच ‘अर्धमात्रा’स्वरूप नित्य पदात लीन होतात.
Lomaharṣaṇa (Sūta) to the sages
Scene: Devotees worship radiant deities; above them the praṇava dissolves into a thin crescent-like ‘half-mātrā’ of light, into which their consciousness merges.
Devotional practice and dharmic action, when grounded in refuge in the divine, culminate in inner absorption into the subtle, eternal reality (sound/tattva).
No specific tīrtha is named; the verse emphasizes inner attainment rather than sacred geography.
It commends kriyā (disciplined sacred action) supported by deva-upāsanā (resorting to the deities), oriented toward ultimate dissolution in the eternal state.
