viṃdhyādrimiva taṃ skaṃdo gṛhītvā taṃ vyatāḍayat | sthire tasyorasi vyūḍhe mudgaraḥ śatadhā'gamat
Sūta (Lomaharṣaṇa) narrating to the sages
Scene: Skanda catches the incoming mace with effortless power, likened to grasping the Vindhya; the mace strikes his broad, unmoving chest and explodes into a hundred fragments that scatter like sparks over the sea.
Steadfastness in dharma makes one unbreakable; violent intent shatters against inner and divine firmness.
No tīrtha is praised; “Vindhya” appears as a simile for immovability.
None.
