muṃcāmuṃ putra yācaṃtaṃ kimanena prayojanam | avamāno vadhaḥ prokto vīrasaṃbhāvitasya ca
Brahmā
Listener: Bāhvāyudha (addressed as ‘putra’)
Scene: Brahmā raises a calming hand, speaking to the victor: ‘Release him’; Indra kneels in supplication; the hero’s posture shifts from aggression to contemplation; the mother watches, approving restraint.
Dharma can require restraint: once an opponent is subdued and pleading, mercy preserves honor and prevents needless sin.
No tīrtha is described in this verse.
None; it is ethical counsel (nīti/dharma-upadeśa).
