आरेभिरे क्रियायोगं मार्कंडनृपपूर्वकाः । तेषां तपस्यतामेवं समाजग्मे कदाचन । तीर्थयात्रानुषंगेन लोमशालोकनोत्सुकः
ārebhire kriyāyogaṃ mārkaṃḍanṛpapūrvakāḥ | teṣāṃ tapasyatāmevaṃ samājagme kadācana | tīrthayātrānuṣaṃgena lomaśālokanotsukaḥ
मार्कण्ड राजाच्या नेतृत्वाखाली त्यांनी क्रियायोगाची साधना आरंभिली. ते असे तपश्चर्येत मग्न असता, कधीतरी तीर्थयात्रेच्या निमित्ताने लोमशही त्यांना पाहण्यास उत्सुक होऊन तेथे आला।
