कूर्म उवाच । शांडिल्य इति विख्यातः पुराहमभवं द्विजः । बालभावे मया भूप क्रीडमानेन निर्मितम्
kūrma uvāca | śāṃḍilya iti vikhyātaḥ purāhamabhavaṃ dvijaḥ | bālabhāve mayā bhūpa krīḍamānena nirmitam
कूर्म म्हणाला—पूर्वी मी ‘शांडिल्य’ या नावाने प्रसिद्ध असा द्विज ब्राह्मण होतो. हे राजन्, बालपणी खेळता-खेळता मी स्वतःच्या हातांनी काहीतरी घडविले होते.
