एकदा सूतमायांतं दृष्ट्वा तं शौनकादयः । परं हर्षं समाविष्टाः पपुर्नेत्रैः सुचेतसा । चित्राः श्रोतुं कथास्तत्र परिवव्रुस्तपस्विनः
ekadā sūtamāyāṃtaṃ dṛṣṭvā taṃ śaunakādayaḥ | paraṃ harṣaṃ samāviṣṭāḥ papurnetraiḥ sucetasā | citrāḥ śrotuṃ kathāstatra parivavrustapasvinaḥ
एकदा सूत येताना पाहून शौनकादि ऋषी परम हर्षाने भरून गेले। स्थिरचित्त होऊन त्यांनी नेत्रांनी जणू त्याला पान केले; अद्भुत कथा ऐकण्याच्या उत्कंठेने ते तपस्वी तिथे त्याच्या भोवती जमले।
