It frames worldly conflict as part of karmic unfolding, reminding the listener that stability and victory ultimately depend on alignment with dharma and devotion to Pati (Lord Shiva), not merely on political power.
Though the verse is narrative, the Uma Samhita consistently implies that in times of siege and fear, refuge is sought in Saguna Shiva—worship of Shiva (often through the Linga) as protector and lord of dharma.
In crisis, Shaiva practice emphasizes steady japa of the Panchakshara mantra ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") and remembrance of Shiva as Pati, cultivating fearlessness and clarity of action.
