दक्षयज्ञे मुनिदेवसमागमः / The Gathering of Sages and Gods at Dakṣa’s Sacrifice
दधीच उवाच । अयज्ञोयं महाजातो विना तेन शिवेन हि । विनाशोपि विशेषेण ह्यत्र ते हि भविष्यति
dadhīca uvāca | ayajñoyaṃ mahājāto vinā tena śivena hi | vināśopi viśeṣeṇa hyatra te hi bhaviṣyati
Dadhīca
Tattva Level: pasha
Shiva Form: Rudra
It teaches that any grand religious act becomes spiritually empty when it excludes Śiva, the supreme Pati; without devotion and rightful offering to Him, the rite turns into a cause of downfall rather than upliftment.
The verse underscores that Saguna worship—such as honoring Śiva through the Liṅga—anchors ritual in its true Lord; when Śiva is not invoked and revered, the external yajña loses its sanctifying power.
A practical takeaway is to begin and conclude all rites with Śiva-smaraṇa and japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), and to perform Śiva-pūjā (often with bhasma/Tripuṇḍra and Rudrākṣa) so that karma is offered to Śiva rather than to ego.
