Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Jyotirlinga: Mallikārjuna
Sthala Purana: This verse explicitly enumerates Mallikārjuna as the second Jyotirliṅga (“Mallika”), emphasizing its loka-hita purpose: the revelation of Śiva’s light-form so beings may attain welfare through darśana.
Significance: As a Jyotirliṅga, it is a paradigmatic site of Śiva’s self-manifest anugraha; darśana is said to bestow sarva-sukha and support the path to liberation.
Type: stotra
Role: nurturing
Offering: pushpa
It teaches that the Jyotirliṅga is a manifest, grace-filled form of Pati (Śiva) whose very darśana uplifts the pashu (bound soul), granting auspicious well-being and steering one toward liberation through devotion.
By naming a specific Jyotirliṅga and praising the fruit of seeing it, the text emphasizes Saguna worship—approaching Śiva through the Liṅga as a tangible focus of bhakti, where divine light is accessible to devotees.
The direct takeaway is Liṅga-darśana with reverence—pilgrimage, mindful viewing, and offering simple worship (water, bilva leaves, mantra-japa such as the Pañcākṣarī ‘Om Namaḥ Śivāya’) to receive Śiva’s grace.
