उत्पतन्निष्पतंश्चापि तिष्ठन्गच्छन् पुनः पुनः।अपावृण्वंश्च द्वाराणि कवाटान्यवघाटयन्।।।।प्रविशन्निष्पतंश्चापि प्रपतन्नुत्पतन्नपि।सर्वमप्यवकाशं स विचचार महाकपिः।।।।
utpatan niṣpataṃś cāpi tiṣṭhan gacchan punaḥ punaḥ |
apāvṛṇvaṃś ca dvārāṇi kavāṭāny avaghāṭayan ||
praviśan niṣpataṃś cāpi prapatan utpatan api |
sarvam apy avakāśaṃ sa vicacāra mahākapiḥ ||
तो वारंवार उडी मारीत वर जात, खाली उतरत; कधी थांबत, कधी चालत; दारे उघडत आणि कपाटे ढकलून बाजूला करीत. आत शिरत, पुन्हा बाहेर येत; कुठे खाली झेपावत, कुठे वर उडत—तो महाकपी शोध घेण्यासारख्या प्रत्येक जागेत फिरत राहिला.
