jarājarjaritaiḥ padmaiḥ śīrṇakesarakarṇikaiḥ |

nālaśeṣair himadhvastair na bhānti kamalākarāḥ ||

आता कमलतळी शोभत नाहीत; कमळे जर्जर झाली आहेत, त्यांचे केसर व कर्णिका सुकून गेले आहेत, फक्त देठ उरले आहेत—पाळ्याने ती नष्ट झाली आहेत।
