Secondary Rasa: bibhatsa
Sandhi Resolution Notes: मत्सरात्स = मत्सरात् + सः; तत्ते = तत् + ते; दत्वा चानीय = दत्वा + च + आनीय
The verse frames the request as arising from envy, implying that jealousy can distort speech and motivate harmful or grasping demands.
It denotes a large sum—ten thousand dīnāras—used here to emphasize the magnitude of the demand being made.
The verse presents a sequence of demands—money and then a stone slab—suggesting preparation for some intended act; without the surrounding verses, the precise purpose remains context-dependent.
