Adhyaya 50 — The Pitris
सौम्यासौम्यैस्तथा शान्तैः पुंस्त्वं स्त्रीत्वञ्च स प्रभुः ।
बिभेद बहुधा देवः पुरुषैरसितैः सितैः ॥
saumyāsaumyais tathā śāntaiḥ puṃstvaṃ strītvaṃ ca sa prabhuḥ | bibheda bahudhā devaḥ puruṣair asitaiḥ sitaiḥ ||
त्या भगवंताने पुन्हा पुरुषत्व व स्त्रीत्व अनेक प्रकारांनी विभागले—मृदु, रौद्र व शांतही—आणि श्यामवर्ण व गौरवर्ण असे जन निर्माण केले।
