शकटारूढभाण्डैश्च गोपालैर्विपणं विना ।

गोस्मूहैस्तथा घोषो यत्रेच्छाभूमिकेतनः ॥

śakaṭārūḍhabhāṇḍaiś ca gopālair vipaṇaṃ vinā / gosamūhais tathā ghoṣo yatreच्छābhūmiketanaḥ

Translation

जिथे गवळी गाड्यांवर माल लादून आणि गुरांच्या कळपासह राहतात, पण तेथे बाजारपेठ नसते—अशा ठिकाणाला ‘घोष’ म्हणतात; इच्छेनुसार मिळालेल्या जमिनीवर वसलेली पशुपालक वस्ती।
