uttasthau ca mahābhāgā cittakṣobham avāpya sā / lajjāvismayadainyānāṃ sadyas tanvī vaśaṃ gatā

The verse is a compact psychology of passion: attraction is accompanied by inner turbulence and vulnerability. Purāṇic storytelling often uses such moments to caution that uncontrolled emotion can quickly dominate agency.
Narrative (Itivṛtta), illustrating human (and semi-divine) behavior rather than cosmic structure.
Lajjā–vismaya–dainya can be read as three veils that arise when the self confronts an overwhelming ‘other’; the loss of inner sovereignty (vaśaṃ gatā) signals bondage to guṇas and saṃskāras.
