कुन्ती चैव तु माद्री च द्वे भायें तु पितुर्मम । उभे सपुत्रे स्थातां वै इति मे धीयते मति:,मेरे पिताके कुन्ती और माद्री नामकी दो भार्याएँ रहीं। वे दोनों ही पुत्रवती बनी रहें, ऐसा मेरा विचार है

kuntī caiva tu mādrī ca dve bhārye tu pitur mama | ubhe saputre sthātāṃ vai iti me dhīyate matiḥ ||

युधिष्ठिर म्हणाला—माझ्या पित्याच्या दोन पत्नी होत्या—कुंती आणि माद्री. माझा दृढ विचार असा की त्या दोघीही पुत्रवतीच राहाव्यात.
