Ajñātavāsa-saṅkalpaḥ — Yudhiṣṭhira’s Resolve and Dhaumya’s Exempla on Concealment
सावित्र्यपि यमे याते भर्तारें प्रतिलभ्य च । जगाम तत्र यत्रास्या भर्तु: शावं कलेवरम्,यमराजके चले जानेपर सावित्री अपने पतिको पाकर उसी स्थानपर गयी; जहाँ पतिका मृत शरीर पड़ा था
sāvitrī api yame yāte bhartāraṃ pratilabhya ca | jagāma tatra yatrāsyā bhartuḥ śavaṃ kalevaram ||
यमराज निघून गेल्यावर सावित्रीने पतीला पुन्हा प्राप्त करून ज्या ठिकाणी त्याचे निर्जीव शरीर पडले होते, त्याच ठिकाणी ती परत गेली।
यम उवाच
Dharma practiced with unwavering resolve—especially the ideal of pativratā devotion—has transformative power; steadfast righteousness and self-control can overcome even the finality of death in the narrative’s moral vision.
After Yama departs, Savitri has her husband restored to her; she then returns to the spot where his body had been lying, reuniting the revived husband with his physical form and resuming the human world’s order.
