तमांसीव यथा सूर्यो वृक्षानग्निर्घनान् खग: । तथा स्कन्दो5जयच्छत्रून् स्वेन वीर्येण कीर्तिमान्,जैसे सूर्य अन्धकार मिटा देते हैं, आग वृक्षोंको जला डालती है और आकाशचारी वायु बादलोंको छिजन्न-भिन्न कर देती है, वैसे ही कीर्तिशाली कुमार कार्तिकेयने अपने पराक्रमद्वारा समस्त शत्रुओंको नष्ट करके उनपर विजय पायी
tamāṃsīva yathā sūryo vṛkṣān agnir ghanān khagaḥ | tathā skando 'jayac chatrūn svena vīryeṇa kīrtimān ||
जसा सूर्य अंधार दूर करतो, अग्नी वृक्षांना भस्म करतो आणि आकाशचारी वारा मेघांना छिन्नभिन्न करतो; तसा कीर्तिमान स्कंदाने आपल्या पराक्रमाने शत्रूंना नष्ट करून त्यांच्यावर विजय मिळविला.
