क्षमा सत्यार्जवं शौचं सतामाचारदर्शनम् | सब विद्याओंका अध्ययन, सब तीथोंमें स्नान, क्षमा, सत्य, सरलता और शौच (पवित्रता)--ये श्रेष्ठ पुरुषोंके आचारको लक्षित करानेवाले हैं
kṣamā satyārjavaṃ śaucaṃ satām ācāra-darśanam | sarva-vidyānām adhyayanaṃ sarva-tīrtheṣu snānaṃ kṣamā satyaṃ saralatā ca śaucaṃ—ete śreṣṭha-puruṣāṇām ācāraṃ lakṣayanti ||
व्याध म्हणाला—क्षमा, सत्य, सरळपणा आणि शौच—हीच सत्पुरुषांच्या आचाराची ओळख आहे. सर्व विद्यांचे अध्ययन आणि सर्व तीर्थांत स्नान, तसेच क्षमा, सत्य, सरलता व पवित्रता—हीच श्रेष्ठ जनांच्या जीवनमार्गाची चिन्हे आहेत.
