अध्वनि क्षीणगात्राश्न पांसुपादावगुण्ठिता: । तेषामेव श्रमार्तानां यो हान्न॑ं कथयेद् बुध:
adhvani kṣīṇagātrāś ca pāṃsupādāvaguṇṭhitāḥ | teṣām eva śramārtānāṃ yo hānnam kathayed budhaḥ ||
रस्त्यात अंगाने थकलेले, धुळीने माखलेले पाय असलेले, श्रमाने पीडित ते पथिक—त्यांच्यासाठी जो ज्ञानी त्या क्षणी अन्नाची व्यवस्था सांगतो (आणि करून देतो), तोच खरा हितचिंतक।
