इन्द्रस्य दुःखप्राप्तिः—त्रिशिरोवधः, वृत्रोत्पत्तिः, जृम्भिकाजननम्

तक्षोवाच महास्कन्धो भृशं होष परशुर्न भविष्यति । कर्तु चाहं न शक्ष्यामि कर्म सद्धिर्विगर्हितम्‌

takṣovāca mahāskandho bhṛśaṃ hoṣa paraśur na bhaviṣyati | kartuṃ cāhaṃ na śakṣyāmi karma sadbhir vigarhitam ||

बढई म्हणाला— “याचे खांदे फारच मोठे व जड आहेत; माझी कुऱ्हाड यावर चालणार नाही. आणि अशा रीतीने कोणत्याही प्राण्याचा वध करणे हे सत्पुरुषांनी निंदिलेले पापकर्म आहे; म्हणून मी हे करू शकत नाही।”
