अध्याय ८ — शल्यस्य सत्कारः, वरदानं, पाण्डवसमागमश्च (Śalya’s Reception, the Boon, and Meeting the Pāṇḍavas)
ājagāma sabhām anyāṃ devāvasathavarcasaṃ | sa tatra viṣayair yuktaḥ kalyāṇair atimānuṣaiḥ ||
The verse underscores how outward order and auspicious splendor in a royal court symbolize disciplined governance and prosperity; such settings frame ethical deliberation by reminding rulers that power should be exercised with refinement and responsibility, not mere display.
The narrator describes someone arriving at another assembly-hall that shines like a divine abode, and finding it richly furnished with excellent, almost superhumanly crafted amenities—setting the scene for subsequent courtly proceedings and counsel.
