भीष्म उवाच प्रजानां क्रोशतीनां वै नैवाक्षुभ्यत मे मन: । प्रतिज्ञां रक्षमाणस्य सद् वृत्तं स्मरतस्तथा
bhīṣma uvāca prajānāṁ krośatīnāṁ vai naivākṣubhyata me manaḥ | pratijñāṁ rakṣamāṇasya sadvṛttaṁ smaratastathā ||
भीष्म म्हणाले—प्रजेच्या करुण आक्रोशाचा आवाज ऐकूनही माझे मन किंचितही विचलित झाले नाही; कारण मी प्रतिज्ञेचे रक्षण करीत होतो आणि सदाचाराचे स्मरण दृढ ठेवले होते.
