आट्यः कठस्तैत्तिरिश्च वैशम्पायनपूर्वज: । कण्वो<थ देवहोत्रश्न एते षोडश कीर्तिता:
āṭyaḥ kaṭhas taittiriś ca vaiśampāyana-pūrvajaḥ | kaṇvo 'tha devahotraś ca ete ṣoḍaśa kīrtitāḥ ||
आट्य, कठ, तैत्तिरी, वैशम्पायनाचा अग्रज, तसेच कण्व आणि देवहोत्र—हेच ते सोळा म्हणून कीर्तिले आहेत.
