अहिंस्न: शुचिरक्षुद्रो निराशी: कर्मसंस्तुत: । आरण्यकपदोदभूता भागास्तत्रोपकल्पिता:
ahiṃsnaḥ śucir akṣudro nirāśīḥ karmasaṃstutaḥ | āraṇyakapadodbhūtā bhāgās tatropakalpitāḥ ||
भीष्म म्हणाले—ते अहिंसक, पवित्र, उदार आणि इच्छारहित होते; प्रशंसनीय भावाने कर्मात प्रवृत्त झाले होते. त्या यज्ञात देवतांचे भाग वनात उत्पन्न झालेल्या फल-मूळ इत्यादी पदार्थांनीच निश्चित करून अर्पण केले होते.
