अथ बन्धपरिक्लिष्टो मार्जारो वीक्ष्य मूषिकम् । छिन्दन्तं वै तदा पाशानत्वरन्तं त्वरान्वित:
atha bandha-parikliṣṭo mārjāro vīkṣya mūṣikam | chindantaṃ vai tadā pāśān atvarantaṃ tvarānvitāḥ ||
मग बंधनाने त्रस्त झालेल्या मांजराने उंदराला फासांच्या दोऱ्या कापताना पाहिले; पण तो घाई न करत असल्याचे दिसताच, स्वतः उतावळा होऊन त्याला लवकर करण्यासाठी प्रवृत्त करू लागला।
