जीवितार्थी कथं त्वद्य शत्रुभि: प्रार्थितस्त्रिभि: । तस्मादेनमहं शत्रुं मार्जार संश्रयामि वै
jīvitārthī kathaṃ tv adya śatrubhiḥ prārthitas tribhiḥ | tasmād enam ahaṃ śatruṃ mārjāraṃ saṃśrayāmi vai ||
भीष्म म्हणाले—मी प्राणरक्षण इच्छितो आणि आज तीन शत्रू माझ्यावर घात लावून बसले आहेत; अशा वेळी मी काय करावे? म्हणून मी माझ्या शत्रू—या मांजराचाच—आश्रय घेतो.
